Vertical news

Airline company Ryanair said it was in talks with US planemaker Boeing about adapting its aircraft so that some passengers could be placed in 'vertical seating'. The low-cost carrier, which in recent months has suggested heavy passengers pay a 'fat tax' and travellers pay to use its on-board toilets, said it wants to get more people onto its aircraft. Passengers wouldn't be fully standing, they would have something like a stool to lean on or to sit on. I don't know about security but the prices will be even cheaper. Read all about it here.

Time-Lapse Globetrotting

Sean Stiegmeier traveled the world, heading to Prague, Japan, Banff, Utah, Oregon, California, and beyond. Along the way, he started experimenting with time-lapse photography. And what he came up with is pretty impressive. Above all, I loved the night sceneries.

Adding Music to the Water

SwiMP3 was released into the market and was quickly regarded by TIME Magazine as one of the top inventions for 2005. Three years later the new player looks much better, the controls have been built directly into the side panels and the memory capacity was increased to 1GB (not much but more than enough for all the swimming I can handle in a day). This player integrates a revolutionary technology as it relies on bone conduction of sound providing you high-fidelity underwater. It's also versatile enough to support both MP3 and WMA playlists. The only downside is that this handy gadget will increase the price of your swimming practice...

Tag Galaxy

This is a a great way to search for Flickr photos. Tag Galaxy provides a 3D search engine (it's actually a photo-sphere you can spin around with the mouse) with visual representations of any data you'd like to find inside Flickr. You can insert an initial tag to search or choose a popular one. Once you find a picture you like, click it to have a look and click it again to get a close up and link directly to the Flickr profile of the photo's user.

Earth album alpha is a mash up of google earth and flickr so it's definitely an interesting way of wandering the planet plus you can get an iPhone App for it here.
